Editor’s note: The defendant, Mr Tom Carroll, contacted us in 2023 and explained that the Crown Court subsequently accepted his plea of not guilty to assault, while he admitted a public order offence of threatening behaviour under the Public Order Act 1986. He was sentenced to a 12 month community order and 200 hours unpaid work. An order was made restraining him from contacting witnesses for a period of 12 months.
Police are appealing for information after an 84-year-old woman was assaulted at Shoreditch High Street train station.
The victim suffered injuries to her shoulder after she fell backwards over a bag during a row with a male passenger on Thursday at around 2.20pm.
Detectives from British Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
