Office workers are being offered free blood pressure and cholesterol checks during the day or after work.
Doctors from the London Independent Hospital in Stepney Green are setting up a one-day mobile clinic at One New Change shopping centre in St Paul’s on Tuesday.
The free checks are part of BMI Healthcare’s campaign to get Londoners to be aware of diseases and risks associated with high blood pressure and high cholesterol—like heart disease which causes 200,000 deaths in Britain a year.
The hospital tested 350 people at Exchange shopping centre in Ilford on March 5 and found one-in-three had problems—and referred them to their GP.
Tuesday’s session (March 15) at St Paul’s is 10am to 7pm at One New Change shopping centre.
