Police have recovered a gun after it was found by gardeners working in Mile End.
The firearm was discovered by the workers in Mile End Road.
Officers from Tower Hamlets Police uploaded an image of the weapon on social media networking website Twitter today with the hashtags #WeWillFindYou and #FirearmRecovered.
It is not known if the firearm is real or an imitation weapon.
