A teenager from East London who shared material relating to terrorist group Daesh online and downloaded bomb-making manuals has been jailed.
Arbias Thaqi, 18, had saved various Daesh propaganda and instructions on how to make explosive devises which he was sharing to others through encrypted apps.
A large amount of terrorist-related material was found on two phones and a computer which was seized at his home when he was arrested in September last year.
Yesterday at Stratford Youth Court he was jailed for 18 months and handed a five-year criminal behaviour order.
He had previously pleaded guilty to six counts of dissemination of terrorist material and two counts of possession of documents of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
Commander Clarke Jarrett, head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command said: “It was important we intervened when we did to prevent Thaqi from further distributing this dangerous and harmful material.”
