Police have arrested a man in east London today on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism, Scotland Yard has confirmed.
Detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command arrested the 28-year-old under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act at 05.30am this-morning. He is currently in custody at a central London police station.
Detectives are searching two addresses in east London, but no further details have been given.
The arrest is separate and not related to the arrest by the Counter Terrorism Command in north London this morning.
