Man charged with attempted murder after park assaults

A man is due to appear in court today charged with two counts of attempted murder in a park in Tower Hamlets.

Sijil Miah, 32, of Shadwell, is also charged with two counts of possession of a knife in a public place.

The charges related to incidents at a park area known locally as Wapping Woods, off Garnet Street, on December 4 against a 38-year-old woman and on December 29 on a 26 year-old woman.

Miah is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
