A man who sprayed homophobic graffiti 70 times in a block of flats in London’s East End has been given eight weeks’ jail.
Mashudur Rahman, 23, was sentenced at Thames Magistrates’ Court on nine charges of criminal damage at Gordon House in Glamis Road, Shadwell. He was given a custodial sentence in addition to being fined �2,000 in costs.
Rahman, from Luke House in Shadwell, admitted the charges when he appeared before Stratford magistrates on February 3.
He had been brought to justice after police worked with Tower Hamlets Council and Eastend Homes housing association to identify and prosecute him.
