A mother whose son was murdered in London’s East End 10 years ago is appealing today for help to track down the killers.
A £20,000 reward remains for information leading to those responsible for stabbing 22-year-old Darren Sherman near his home on the Isle of Dogs.
“I need to know what happened to my son,” said Darren’s mother Rosemarie Belle. “It’s been 10 years since Darren was taken from us.
“We don’t know the circumstances of his death—but someone must know something.
“Darren had his whole life ahead of him.”

Detectives are launching a fresh appeal for help to trace Ibrahim Bangura, now aged 30, and are hoping “loyalties may have changed” over the last decade and people come forward.

“Many friends of both my son and Ibrahim Bangura are now in their 30s with children of their own,” Rosemarie added.
“This might prompt them to think about how they would feel if this had happened to their son or daughter.”
Darren got involved in a dispute in Manchester Road with two others close to his home at Alice Shepherd House, police believe.
No weapon has ever been recovered and officers keep an open mind about the motive.
The Homicide & Serious Crime Command’s Det Ins Dermott Carroll said: “A decade is a long time—but I hope people who know what happened that night or have information about Ibrahim Bangura may now feel more confident with the passage of time about coming forward.”
Bangura, about 5ft 10ins tall who had a short black skinhead haircut at the time, is believed to have left Britain shortly after, but later returned. Four men were arrested in connection with the murder, but proceedings were dropped.
