Laszio Nemes and Krzysztof Zakrzewski are being sought by the Met’s extradition unit as part of Operation Sunfire, which is attempting to round-up foreign suspects to face justice in their home countries.

It is the third time the Met has run the operation, and officers released photos of 18 “high-risk” suspects on Monday (February 4), including men wanted for murder, kidnap, and rape.

Laszio Nemes, 52, is wanted by his native Hungary because he is alleged to have been involved in smuggling people across the Serbian/Hungarian border. A Met spokesman said: “He has previous links to east London, particularly Newham and Tower Hamlets.”

And 38-year-old Krzysztof Zakrzewski is wanted by Poland because he’s accused beating up a man during a violent robbery there in 1992. He is also believed to have links in Newham and Tower Hamlets.

Det Sgt Peter Rance, who is leading the operation, said: “Today I’m asking the public: Do you recognise these faces? Maybe you know where these people live, work or socialise.

“They are wanted to face justice for a multitude of crimes in other countries and it is in the UK’s interests to help find them.”

Members of the public are advised not to approach the men, and anyone with information about their whereabouts should call police on 999, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
