Drugs with a street value of £3,000 have been recovered in a police raid on a Whitechapel address, it has emerged.
Officers forced their way into a flat in a block in Wodeham Gardens, off Vallance Road—where they spotted a plastic box being hurled to the street from a second-floor balcony as they entered.
The box was recovered by members of the Task Force who found 250 ‘wraps’ of class ‘A’ drugs in the box, the Met Police revealed today.
“The Task Force will continue pursuing criminals relentlessly,” warned a police spokesman. “We recognise the impact that these people have on residents and the nuisance that drug dealing creates.”
The raid was carried out by 40 officers in the Task Force from Bethnal Green police station with a warrant on August 22, when they also found additional drugs and cash at the address. Two people were arrested and taken to an east London police station while investigations continued.
