Three men involved in the shooting of a staff member during the robbery of a money transfer company are facing jail.
Shofu Meah, Roger Fuller and Stavros Sammoutis are due to be sentenced later today after they were found guilty of holding up Iqra Money Transfer Company in Stepney Green.
The group shot a staff member, leaving him seriously injured, and assaulted two other members of staff as they transferred money from the business to a vehicle.
The robbers fled the scene, in White Horse Lane, with £60,000 cash in September last year.
Meah, of Colmar Close, Stepney Green, carried out the robbery with two accomplices from north London.
Det Sgt Holly Simon of the Metropolitan Police said: “This was a terrifying attack carried out in broad daylight by violent criminals who disregarded the safety of all those around them in pursuit of financial gain.”
Meah, 23, was found guilty of robbery. Fuller, 37, and Sammoutis, 22, were found guilty of GBH with intent, robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.
