Stepney teenager charged with acid attack in Mile End

A teenager from Stepney has been charged with carrying out a suspected acid attack in Mile End earlier this month.
Mustafa Ahmed, 19, of Musberry Street, is accused of carrying out the attack on a woman in her late thirties and a man in his mid-twenties in Burdett Road.
The victims had a ‘corrosive substance’ thrown on them on July 4 just after 2am.
Ahmed, who was arrested yesterday, is charged with one count of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) and one count of attempted wounding with intent to do GBH.
He will appear before Thames Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
