Tower Hamlets residents have just three weeks left to have their say on the Mayor of London’s controversial proposals to close three of the six police stations in the borough.
Boris Johnson’s plans to slash the Metropolitan Police’s budget, would involve shutting a swathe of stations across the capital, including those in Poplar, Bow, and the Isle of Dogs.
Mr Johnson insists the plans would not result in a reduction of police numbers in London.
Deputy mayor for policing and crime, Stephen Greenhalgh said: “Policing in London is changing and we want to hear your views. As we’ve travelled across the capital we’ve had some really valuable discussions and with just three weeks left to go I’d urge anyone with an interest in policing in Tower Hamlets to get involved. These views will help shape the final plan which aims to make a real difference to the future of policing in London. “
Residents have until March 6 to give their feedback on the proposals, at www.london.gov.uk/mopac.
