Twelve people have now been arrested after today’s English Defence League demonstration.
The far right group was cordoned into an area close to Aldgate Tube station by police today as a counter demonstration by anti fascist campaigners took place in Whitechapel Road.
The arrests relate to offences including affray, drunk and disorderly behaviour and assault on a police officer.
