Two people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a 77-year-old man last month.
The incident occurred on Whitechapel Road on the morning of June 27 after the man had withdrawn several thousand pounds from a bank.
He had taken out the cash to pay for the funeral of his wife of 57 years who had died days before.
A 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man are currently being detained in an east London police station.
