The condition of a 16-year-old who was stabbed in Poplar on Saturday has improved from critical to stable, police said last night.
The boy, who was chased into the EFC takeaway in Burdett Road near the junction with Dod Street and stabbed at around 9.25pm, has shown much improvement as he continues his recovery in an east London hospital.
The teenager, who lives locally and a group of friends where chased by a gang of youths but while his friends managed to get away, he was pursued by three or four youths.
Officers from Tower Hamlets Violent Crime Unit are investigating and are still seeking witnesses and information following the assault. Anyone with information should call 0207 275 4546 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
