Detectives are appealing for passers-by or any motorist with a dash cam who may have witnessed a road incident in east London when a man was killed early this morning.

Police and ambulance paramedics arrived at the incident at 4.30am in The Highway in Shadwell, on the corner of Dellow Street, where they found the 26-year-old pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene at 5pm.

A vehicle involved didn’t stop at the scene, say police. Three youths have since been arrested on “suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving”, Scotland Yard has confirmed.

The youths, aged 18 and 19, were taken to an east London police station where they remain at this time.

The Met’s Serious Collision investigation unit is appealing for anyone with dash cam footage of the incident or anyone with information to call detectives on 020 8597 4874 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
