RAIL bosses are creating 300 top engineering jobs in the next 12 months to help major projects such as London's �16 billion Crossrail 'super tube' and revamping Thameslink.
Network Rail has identified a shortage of skilled specialists and project engineers. The jobs being set up will including signalling, electrical and general project management.
Chief executive Iain Coucher said: "Creating these jobs will help transform travel across London and make a massive difference to passengers and freight users right across Britain."
Half of the jobs being set up are in London and the South East, working on the Crossrail, Thameslink and Reading projects. Engineers will also be sent out to oversee projects in Swindon, Birmingham, Manchester and York.
