The Iftar event saw representatives from a range of faiths come together in a bid to build bonds and improve understandingacross different religions.

Tower Hamlets Council’s Labour group leader Cllr Sirajul Islam was among the guests at the Waterlily in Mile End Road for the celebrations on July 23.

“It is a sign of our strength that an occasion such as this can be shared by those of all faiths in solidarity with our Muslim neighbours,” he said.
