Crowds line the streets to see the Queen and Prince Philip in Poplar

With flags and phones in hand, crowds lined the streets outside All Saints Church and Mayflower Primary School in Poplar this afternoon to catch a glimpse of the Queen.

The Queen was visiting the area to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the bombing of Upper North Street School. She visited the school, the church and Poplar Park.
She had fans along the way, including Barbara Liddell who has seen members of the Royal Family multiple times. She came out today on behalf of one of her friends who went to the Mayflower School.

Two other fans, Hannah Dingley, 10, and Bobbi Middleditch, 11, got to see the Queen for the first time.
Hannah said: “I’m really excited to see her because she’s very important.”

Nicola said: “She’s not going to reign for much longer. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
