The crystal diamond which the Queen will use use to light a national beacon to celebrate her 60th year reign last night arrived at the Tower of London.
Pageantmaster of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacons, Bruno Peek, delivered the diamond on Tuesday for the safe keeping of the Tower.
Mr Peek processed through the Tower at the head of a 60-piece band provided by the Sea Cadets and upon reaching the Broad Walk handed the Jubilee Crystal Diamond to the Constable of the Tower, General Lord Dannatt.
The Queen will use it to light the National Beacon on June 4 as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
