THE latest images from the Olympic Park show the cycling track taking shape.
The structural steelwork that will help form the distinct double-curved shape of the Velodrome is now being put in.
The 6,000 seat Velodrome will host the Olympic and Paralympic Track Cycling events of the 2012 Games. The venue's lower tier will have 3,500 seats and the upper tier 2,500 seats. The tiers will be divided by a 360 degree open space offering views over the Olympic Park in Stratford and the London skyline.
More than 2,500 sections of steelwork, up to 12 meters high are being installed for the roof structure and upper tier of the Velodrome.
The cost of installing the steelwork is over 3 million.
