CYCLISTS have the chance to join a car-free ride past some of the most iconic buildings in London and raise money to help combat one of the most common men's cancers.
The final stage of the 2009 Tour of Britain on Saturday races through an iconic circuit at the heart of London, using the same course that kicked off the 2008 Tour in front of over 120,000 spectators.
Before the professionals take to the circuit though riders who have each paid �50 towards The Prostate Cancer Charity London Ride get the opportunity to take to the streets on the same route as the professionals.
A thousand cyclists get the chance to ride two laps of the actual route of the final stage to welcome The Tour of Britain to the country's capital
They will start at Victoria Embankment, and will pass the Houses of Parliament into Whitehall, and past the entrance to Downing Street and the 20km route will take them up the gentle climb of Tower Hill and past The Tower before heading back to Victoria Embankment.
Every year 35,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK and 10,000 die of the illness.
