ACCLAIMED Hollywood actress Dame Helen Mirren came face to face with her double today at the launch of a waxwork likeness of the Oscar winning star at Madame Tussauds.

The Oscar-winning star who lives in Wapping unveiled the 150,000 likeness made for the popular Madame Tussauds attraction in Marylebone.

Dame Helen and her husband film director Taylor Hackford who are promoting their new movie Love Ranch were stunned at how lifelike the model is.

She said: "It's like becoming a Dame really; a great honour. My husband wants to marry her; I'm much more argumentative than she is."

It took four months to make the model which wears a black evening gown donated by the star who is well known to audiences for her role in The Queen and in the TV drama Prime Suspect.
