TORY leader David Cameron chatted to community activists on an East End estate when he dropped into the borough yesterday.

Mr Cameron met Shahin Ahmed and Matthew Bolton from the charity London Citizens as he was shown around Stepney's Ocean Estate.

His visit was part of his Big Society initiative as he pledged that a Conservative government would spend cash on training-up more adults to help them improve their own neighbourhoods when he visited the Ocean Estate in Stepney.

The estate is currently undergoing a major re-vamp as part of a 200 million regeneration programme and both Shahin and Matthew told the Tory leader they were working to improve the estate.

Mr Cameron said he wanted to "give power to neighbourhood groups and boost social action".

"We're going to give communities the chance to take control", he added.
