Steve Davis’ team are set for busy few days with clashes against Eastleigh and Maidenhead United to come

David Mooney has set his sights on giving the Leyton Orient fans plenty to shout about at Brisbane Road ahead of this weekend’s clash with National League rivals Eastleigh.

The O’s only won four games on home soil last season and the end result was relegation to non-league football after finishing bottom of League Two.

Orient have been a lot better at Brisbane Road already this campaign and Mooney wants another victory this weekend to edge them closer to his initial target this term.

He added: “I think last season we only had three or four home wins, so now we have two in two.

“For us it is about trying to get over that little hurdle first and I was hoping by the end of August we would have three home victories.

“We are on track for that, so fingers crossed we can keep this form at Brisbane Road going and pick up points away, as we know that is where it is going to be tough.”

Orient will welcome a couple of familiar faces back to E10 this weekend with Andy Hessenthaler number two to Eastleigh boss Richard Hill.

Hessenthaler spent 15 months at Brisbane Road and had stints as assistant manager and in charge of the first-team before being sacked in September 2016.

Paul McCallum could also potentially return to Orient alongside the experienced coach having signed for Eastleigh this summer.

After O’s host the Spitfires on Saturday, Steve Davis’ team will be in action again on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28).

Orient make the trip to newly promoted Maidenhead United and the two fixtures will test the fitness of the squad.

Mooney believes the fans will play an important part over the next few day and praised them for their continued support.

He added: “We have had nearly 10 thousand overall for both home games, so we can’t ask for much more.

“I thought the fans were great against Maidstone and probably helped us through during the times when we weren’t our fluent best.

“They have seen the way we are going to play from the back and try to pop it about and some weeks we will look excellent and others we might not look as good, but I do think they know we will win more than we will lose this season.”
