Birdlovers are meeting at the crack of dawn to hear to the first birdsong of the day in London’s East End before most humans are stirring.
They are being ‘tweeted’ to turn up at 5.30am on Sunday to join Tower Hamlets council biodiversity expert John Archer at Mudchute Farm on the Isle of Dogs.
“It’s the best time to listen to what birds are singing,” he says. “There’s less noise from humans to drown out their singing.”
Enthusiasts can join him at Mudchute’s car-park by the main entrance in Pier Street, off Manchester Road, Cubitt Town.
Birdlovers are also joining biodiversity officer David Darrell-Lambert in Bethnal Green on Saturday to find out what birds live in Victoria Park, 10am-12noon, meeting at the V&A building.
