THIS week sees the closing date for applications for the top job at Tower Hamlets council.
The new chief executive will take home �190,000 for what is advertised as a 35-hour-week.
The previous chief executive Martin Smith left with a �300,000 pay off after two years in the top job.
Mr Smith left amidst rumours of a falling out with the council's leader Labour councillor Lutfur Rahman.
Kevan Collins, the head of children's services has been acting as interim boss.
The application deadline is Thursday.
