THE DEADLINE has just passed for candidates to run for Labour as mayor of London.
Former Bethnal Green and Bow MP Oona King has thrown her hat into the ring and will be facing twice London mayor Ken Livingstone for the Labour nomination.
Ms King who lives in Mile End was an MP from 1997 to 2005 before she was defeated by Respect's George Galloway.
Ken Livingstone served as London's first directly elected mayor from 2000 to 2008 when he was defeated by Tory Boris Johnson.
