A CHILDREN'S 'listening' bus is turning up for deaf children to try out the latest technology to aid communication at a special fun day being organised in East London.

The bus loaded with state-of-the-art technology is the main attraction at Gilwell Park activity centre in Chingford on October 17.

Families with deaf children are being invited to the event being organised by the National Deaf Children's Society from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Parents will get the chance to meet other families and share knowledge and experiences of bringing up a deaf child while to kids and their brothers and sisters can join arts and craft sessions, mini Olympics and giant family games.

The Chingford event is free, but parents are being asked to register first on the society's website. The fun day from 10.30am to 4.30pm is one of the 10 events the society is holding across the country this year to help families cope with deafness.
