A MAN was found dead outside a shop on Saturday morning.
Police say they were called to St Leonard's Road in Poplar around 8.25am where they found the man behind a shop.
The man, believed to be in his mid-20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem at Poplar Mortuary on Sunday gave the cause of death as head injuries and drowning.
But cops said the injuries are not consistent with an assault.
A spokesman said: "There is nothing to suggest foul play, and the death is being treated as non-suspicious."
The man's next of kin have been informed although officers await a formal identification
An inquest into the death was due to open and adjourns today (Monday) at Poplar Coroner's Court.
