Disabled pensioner shoved and robbed in Bethnal Green

A 91-YEAR-OLD woman using a walking frame was pushed over by a mugger who robbed her of her handbag while she was lying on the floor.

The smartly-dressed man shoved the pensioner in the chest, causing her to fall over, in Virginia Road, Bethnal Green around 1.10pm on Monday.

He then snatched the black bag from her shoulder as she lay on the floor and ran off towards Calvert Avenue.

The woman was badly shaken and was taken by ambulance to hospital but was discharged with no injuries.

Police have described the suspect as a white man, in his early to mid 30s, wearing a smart black suit.
