A four-day strike planned on the DLR from tomorrow has been called off.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union were due to take industrial action between 4am tomorrow and 3.59am on Tuesday in a dispute with DLR operator KeolisAmey Docklands over outsourcing, abuse of procedure and workplace justice.

However Transport for London announced this evening the strike has been suspended.

If it went ahead it would have affected thousands of London Marathon runners and spectators who need to register on tomorrow or Saturday at the ExCeL and get to Greenwich for the start of the race on Sunday.

Mark Davis, Interim General Manager of the DLR, said: “For the thousands of runners raising millions of pounds for charity this weekend, we are delighted that the planned industrial action on the DLR has been suspended.

“Our services will help all those participating and supporting the London Marathon travel across London for this fantastic event. Walking, cycling and public transport will be the easiest way to get around and make the most of the day and I encourage anyone travelling around south east and central London to be aware of the road closures and to plan their journey in advance.”
