A new ballet featuring world-class dancers is being performed in London’s East End tomorrow (Friday) along with once-banned music.
The work ‘Memento’ has been written by young British composer Jeremy Holland-Smith with choreography by the English National Ballet Youth Company’s artistic director Holly Noble, performed by AD Dance Company.
The Docklands Sinfonia evening St St Anne’s Church in Limehouse also features works by composers who have fought for their music to be performed. These include ‘Sinfonietta Synthetical’ by Mehran Rouhani, who has never had his work performed in his native Iran, and Shostakovich’s 5th Symphony composed during Stalin’s iron rule.
The concert begins 7:30pm, tickets 12 (advanced) 10 (concessions) or 15 (door). Box office 07827-568992 or online: www.docklandssinfonia.co.uk
