Office staff took to dragon boat racing at Canary Wharf in East London last night to raise £35,000 for blood cancer charities.
Some 17 teams from Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Market Axess, Sapient, Royal London Asset Management & Northern Trust paddled it out down the 750ft length of Middle Dock in the Millwall Docks.
The Barclays Macro FX Trading squad passed the finishing line victorious, narrowly beating the Sapient team in a tight six boat final.
The race was part of a fundraising campaign called Light the Night, which plans a twilight walk around Canary Wharf in October to raising money for two blood cancer charities, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research in the UK and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the US.
