FAMILY and friends of a 22-year-old man have been leaving flowers at the at the scene of the crash in which he died in East London. His car went out of control and smashed into a lamp-post at Spindrift Avenue in Millwall, Isle of Dogs, at 12.30am on Saturday

FAMILY and friends of a 22-year-old man have been leaving flowers at the at the scene of the crash in which he died in East London.

His car went out of control and smashed into a lamp-post at Spindrift Avenue in Millwall, Isle of Dogs, at 12.30am on Saturday.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene in Millwall.

But the man, believed to have been close to his home, was found to be dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.

A 20-year-old passenger was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Police do not believe any other vehicle was involved in the crash.

They are appealing for witnesses who may have been in Spindrift Avenue, off West Ferry Road, half-a-mile from Canary Wharf, at 12.30am on October 25 to contact them on 020-8597 4874.
