STAFF and residents at an East End care home were in the party mood to celebrate the Bengali New Year last week.
On Wednesday last week Sonali Gardens in Shadwell was full of fun and festivities with music, dance and a feast to mark Pohela Boishakh, the first day of the Bengali calendar.
Care home manager Jesmin Hannan said: "This is a very special time of year for many of our residents and they had an absolutely wonderful day. We also enjoyed welcoming many new faces to Sonali Gardens to celebrate with us.
"The place looked spectacular and was decorated with bright beautiful colours and flowers.
