COPS are on the run in London’s East End with a price on their heads.

They are swapping their uniforms for running gear on Friday and heading into the City.

The 23 officers from the Met's Tower Hamlets police division have taken on the challenge to run up the tallest building in the City.

The gruelling hike is to raise money for the Robyn Higgins Appeal. Robyn was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer, which only affects children under 10 and is extremely aggressive.

“All the funds raised by the run will go towards life saving treatment,” said organiser Gurpreet Singh Dhamrat.

“But time is not on our side. We need to raise this money to give this brave little girl the chance she desperately needs. She has fought the cancer so courageously and wants to win. She deserves this chance to live.”

Police are appealing for help with their inquiries and are asking for the public's help with sponsorship or donations on the Tower 42 website. Every penny goes towards saving Robyn Higgins.

The 22 runners are PCs Louise Bradford, Lotte Wookey, Mike Douglas, Mathew Ng, Phil John, Scott Charlton, Jamie Sweeney, Jordan Khodaverdi, Mathew Daley, James Hollick, Mathew O'Driscoll, Serdor Demirelli, Gurpreet Dhamrat, Peter Rushforth, Karl Kramer, Adam Jarman, Dave Anslow, Alison Sanders, Julia Dacres, Steve Harvey, Noreen Akhtar, Kayleigh Ruffy and Emily Freeman.
