MEN and women on the dole in London's deprived East End have been on 'exchange' visits to one of the big banks in the City to see what jobs are going.
They met top IT consultants at Deutsche Bank as part of a programme to develop skills, confidence and awareness of job opportunities in the Square Mile.
The jobseekers, who are on a course run by East London Advanced Technology Training centre in Whitechapel, got an insight into IT jobs in the financial sector.
For the bank employees who then visited the centre it was a chance to learn more about the employment challenges residents face in deprived 'City Fringe' districts on their doorstep. They also gave a workshop on interview techniques for the jobseekers.
