YOUNGSTERS were all smiles when they picked up a cheque for 500 towards a programme teaching them sailing and windsurfing.
The cheque was collected by pupils from Bow's Central Foundation Girls School from the Marine Trade Association on a school trip the London International Boat Show at East London's Excel centre earlier this month.
The programme's manager, Victoria Lenz, said: "Every penny helps get more children out on the water."
The On Board programme run through schools and sailing clubs aims to introduce at least 500,000 children to sailing in Britain over 10 years.
