Dear Ed,
I AGREE as a long-suffering, involuntary recipient of Tower Hamlets council’s weekly good news’ East End Life’ freesheet that it is illiterate rubbish (East London Advertiser, April 23, and Website Letters April 15). It is, of course, partial (in both senses of the word).
But the real mischief is that it is an abuse of power that our council tax money is used on self-congratulatory outpourings of the half-witted unemployables at the Town Hall and all the other outposts of this body, merely to keep their spirits up and to reassure one another that—contrary to any objective view—each of them is worthwhile. East End Life should be stopped.
