THE NEW MP for Bethnal Green and Bow is being sworn in at a special ceremony in the House of Commons this afternoon.
Rushanara Ali is Britain's first Bangladeshi born MP and reclaimed the East London seat for Labour from Respect.
George Galloway defeated the previous Labour MP Oona King at the 2005 election.
She will be making an oath to the Queen on the Koran, signing the test roll and being welcomed by the Speaker at today's ceremony.
