WEEKLY English lessons with free crche facilities for babies and toddlers are being offered to Bangladeshi mums in London's East End.
The lessons run by Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership are followed by advice sessions with help on issues including health, housing, social benefits and drug awareness.
A new three-year programme is being run in five Tower Hamlets primary schools, Hermitage, Osmani, Culloden, Marion Richardson and Stepney Greencoat. Three tailored programmes will also run at three special needs schools, Stephen Hawking, Phoenix and Beatrice Tate schools.
The programme is being paid for by the TRS Foundation, the charitable arm of TR Suterwalla Asian food company, to help Bangladeshi parents and others from migrant communities to be more involved in their children's education.
