FOUR teenagers signed up to East London’s famous Summer University are getting ready to star on BBC television’s live final of the National Lottery awards.

A short film about Tower Hamlets Summer Uni, which runs a year-round programme of free educational and vocational courses, is being transmitted on BBC1 before they find out if they are one of seven category winners at the prestigious annual event.

The Uni is one of three finalists for the best education’ category out of hundreds of Lottery-funded projects up and down the country that entered.

The youngsters represent Tower Hamlets uni on the Saturday night show on September 5, National Lottery: Big 7, presented by Nick Knowles and Myleene Klass.

They share the limelight with celebrities such as Strictly Come Dancing’s Lisa Snowdon and John Sergeant, actress Faye Ripley and diving sensation Tom Daley.
