East End teenagers’ young mayor being decided tonight

THE battle to become Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets’ is being decided in East London tonight. The count is under way at the Town Hall after the final poll yesterday (Wednesday)

THE battle to become Young Mayor of Tower Hamlets’ is being decided in East London tonight.

The count is under way at the Town Hall after the final poll yesterday (Wednesday).

The race for young mayor’ began at the beginning of the month with 31 hopefuls canvassing in schools and youth clubs in the East End with 6,386 votes cast online.

Just 15 got through to yesterday’s second round, who get to know their fate at tonight’s inauguration. The young mayor’ gets a 12-month term as representative of Tower Hamlets at the UK Youth Parliament.
