Youngsters were helping their parents to exchange their culinary tips on the Eric Estate in Mile End as they hung their recipes on a unique 'recipe tree'.

The tree is the latest addition to the estate's new community garden which was opened last week as part of a re-generation project to transform the area.

As part of the community scheme, run by butter brand Kerrygold, neighbours are being encouraged to decide on how they want to see the area look and are being given the chance to grow their own vegetables.

There will be a seating area and a 'natural play' area for the kids.
