DEVELOPERS in East London have won two Government-backed UK Housing Design Project awards.

The accolades were picked up by Barratt East London for their Tria development (above), close to Bethnal Green’s famous Columbia Road Flower Market, and another at Rotherhithe on the other side of the Thames.

The Tria complex has 51 new apartments and duplexes in three blocks close to public transport links and includes roof gardens and terraces.

The Royal Institute of British Architecture’s chief executive Richard Hastilow referred to it “a new clutch of apartments and houses which makes the art of producing well appointed family homes in city centres look easy.”

The Barratt Group completed 18,500 schemes last year, from family homes to whole urban regeneration projects and shopping centres.
