O’s monitoring restructuring at National League rivals Ebbsfleet

The Fleet are understood to be willing to listen to offers for some of their most high-profile players
Leyton Orient are understood to be one of many teams monitoring the current situation at Ebbsfleet United amid the financial restructuring taking place at the Kent club.
On Friday, the O’s National League rivals Fleet released a statement from their chairman Abdulla Al-Humaidi, which read: “I now feel this is the right time to restructure the football club across the board to ensure it is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
“It has always been my ambition to make the club self-sufficient and the restructure will produce a sound platform on which to achieve that.
“Changes are ongoing and will continue to evolve. I remain committed to Ebbsfleet United and will continue to be so for years to come.”
While Orient will not go in for former loanee Ebou Adams, Fleet have a number of other talented players namely Danny Kedwell and Myles Weston.

An unnamed club have already made a bid for Ebbsfleet forward Michael Cheek and although it is not thought to be the O’s, the former Dagenham & Redbridge striker is a player the E10 side have admired in the past.
In addition to Cheek, Fleet are also listening to offers for Corey Whitely and he is an attacker Orient have rated for a long period of time.

When Dagenham found themselves in financial trouble earlier this year, O’s made the most of Daggers’ problems by signing full-back Sam Ling.
Given the situation Ebbsfleet are now in, Orient director of football Martin Ling will no doubt be watching the state of affairs closely waiting to see if any good deals arise.
