CHARITABLE youngsters met on Sunday for a Ramadan Funday organised to raise money for flood victims in Pakistan.
The event, at the Idea Store in Whitechapel, allowed children to try out Islamic arts and crafts during the holy month of Ramadan.
Patterned hands and painted faces were proudly displayed as happy kids experimented with exotic henna designs.
Free balloons were also offered for every book borrowed – vital ballast, perhaps, for those threatening to take off under mini-airships of roped-together helium bubbles!
Despite the fun, though, no-one forgot the suffering of Pakistan’s flood survivors, and the children designed special cards to highlight their plight.
