PUPILS from two schools in London's East End have performed a play about immigration as part of a 'community of young theatre makers.'
Teenagers from Whitechapel's Swanlea Secondary joined 11-year-olds from nearby Thomas Buxton Junior for workshops with professional artists from the Half Moon theatre company including a dancer, musician and writer.
They created an original drama, Conversations, exploring immigration and sharing experiences, which was staged at Stepney's Half Moon Young People's Theatre and at Swanlea School last week.
The project was aimed at helping youngsters in the transition from primary to secondary school which also includes being 'paired up' in a mentor scheme.
